It's a normal-tension classical string set built around a proprietary multifilament stranded core on the basses, which gives them a noticeably bolder response and significantly longer life than traditional nylon-core strings. What makes the EJ45C a step up from the standard EJ45 is that composite bass core. The basses are wound with silver-plated copper over that multifilament stranded core, and each set also includes an optional monofilament Composite 3rd/G string — in addition to the traditional clear nylon 3rd — so you can dial in the balance between your bass and treble registers. The clear nylon treble strings are laser-sorted for consistent diameter and tension, so intonation stays reliable across the set.
