The D'Addario NYNW080 is a single .080 gauge nickel wound string from the NYXL series — handy when you need to replace one string without buying a whole set, or when you're building a custom gauge setup string by string. It's the same string used in D'Addario's NYXL full sets, just sold individually.
At the core is D'Addario's proprietary NY Steel — a high-carbon steel hex core engineered for higher break strength and enhanced tuning stability compared to traditional nickel wound strings. The reformulated nickel-plated steel wrap wire is precision wound to deliver enhanced mid-range frequency response, which gives the string more presence and cut. These strings are round wound and made in the U.S.A.
