The Jones J201MS is a medium soft bassoon reed designed for bassoon players during the first few years of playing. It is intended for beginners and is designed for the basic range of the instrument, allowing each player to become easily acquainted with the bassoon. Jones recommends that first-year players start with Medium Soft or Medium reeds.
The Jones bassoon reed is one of the finest commercial bassoon reeds available, with each piece of cane selected for exact diameter and wall thickness. Made of the finest French cane, Jones reeds are sorted, selected, and processed by skilled craftsmen, then created using the world's most advanced reed machinery. Each reed is individually tested and adjusted by hand before leaving the factory. The bassoon reed is tuned to 440 Hz.
