The D'Addario XSB45105 XS Nickel Coated Bass Strings give you a 4-string long-scale set in the popular Light Top/Medium Bottom gauge (.045–.065–.085–.105). They're built for electric bass players who want their strings to last longer without giving up the feel or response of uncoated strings.
The XS series uses an ultra-thin film coating over a premium nickel-plated steel wrap wire — thin enough that the strings still feel fast and smooth under your fingers, while keeping corrosion at bay for extended string life. The core is D'Addario's NY High Carbon Steel hex core, which contributes to better tuning stability and greater break strength than standard bass strings. The wrap wire has been re-engineered with updated core-to-wrap ratios that bring out more harmonic character while keeping a familiar feel. These are roundwound strings and are made in D'Addario's New York production facility.
