30" Short Scale: More Comfortable, Still Punchy
The TMB30's 30" scale length is the centerpiece of its appeal. Compared to a standard 34" long-scale bass, the shorter scale reduces string tension noticeably — frets feel closer together, string bends come more easily, and your fretting hand gets a break on longer playing sessions. Players with smaller hands often find a short-scale instrument opens up parts of the neck that felt awkward before.
Don't mistake "comfortable" for "thin-sounding," though. Short-scale basses are known for a slightly warmer, rounder fundamental — and the TMB30's poplar body helps deliver an even, balanced tone across the range. The 41mm nut width keeps the neck from feeling cramped, and the 240mm fingerboard radius gives the jatoba fretboard a smooth, playable feel through the whole range of the 20-fret neck.

The poplar body provides a lightweight, balanced platform — it won't drag your shoulder down after a long set. The bolt-on TMB4 maple neck features a comfortable profile: 21.5mm thick at the first fret, tapering to 24.5mm at the 12th fret. Medium frets support accurate note placement, and white dot inlays keep position markers simple and readable at a glance.
Passive P/J Pickups and Simple Controls
The Dynamix P neck pickup and Dynamix J bridge pickup are both passive — no battery to worry about, no preamp to maintain. The P-style pickup in the neck position handles the warm, focused lows and punchy mids that make bass lines sit in a mix. The J-style at the bridge gives you the option to bring in more attack and clarity. Two individual volume controls let you blend the two pickups exactly where you want them, and a single master tone control rounds out a control layout that's as straightforward as it gets. The B10 bridge with 19mm string spacing offers fully adjustable intonation and solid tuning stability.
