Solid Torrefied Spruce Top — What That Actually Means
Taylor uses a proprietary roasting process called torrefaction on the spruce tops of several of their guitars. In simple terms, the wood is heat-treated in a controlled environment to accelerate the aging process that normally happens over decades of playing. The result is a top that responds with aged-in warmth and sweetness right out of the box — more open-sounding, more resonant, and more dynamic than an untreated spruce of the same age.
