The Positive Grid Spark LIVE takes a different approach: one compact, 150-watt unit that handles guitar, bass, vocals, and keys simultaneously, and does it well.
This isn't just a louder version of the Spark you know from the living room. The Spark LIVE is a four-channel smart amp and PA system in a single enclosure, powered by Positive Grid's Sonic IQ computational audio engine — an adaptive system that separates and optimizes frequencies for each instrument in real time. You get the full Spark modeling platform for live performance, not just practice.

150 Watts of Room-Filling Modeling Power
At 150W RMS (450W peak) from a Class D amplifier, the Spark LIVE puts out enough volume to hold its own against a live drum kit. Two custom-designed 6.5-inch woofers and two 1-inch compression tweeters with custom angled horns handle the speaker load, delivering full-range stereo sound in a bass-reflex cabinet that measures roughly 18 x 10 x 12 inches. A built-in gyroscope automatically adjusts the sound profile depending on whether the unit is placed horizontally or standing vertically — tilt it on its side for true stereo widening, or stand it upright for a focused, directional mono signal.
Channel 1 is your guitar channel, with 33 amp models covering electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and bass, plus 43 effects. You get eight onboard programmable presets and full control over Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Master. Channel 2 handles vocals, bass, or acoustic guitar with its own three amp models and 50 effects — also with eight presets. Channels 3 and 4 serve as a stereo line input, ideal for keyboards, drum machines, a computer audio feed, or the outputs from a small mixer. A rear-panel 3-band master EQ and volume knob let you shape the overall mix.
Connectivity is thorough: three 1/4-inch instrument inputs, one XLR/1/4-inch combo input, a 1/8-inch headphone output (up to 200 ohms), two 1/4-inch line outputs (L/Mono and R), and MIDI In/Out via DIN 5-pin jacks. MIDI can be used to change presets, adjust channel levels, bypass effects, or link a second Spark LIVE for a larger rig.
Sonic IQ: The Engine Under the Hood
At the center of the Spark LIVE's sound is Sonic IQ, Positive Grid's computational audio engine. Rather than simply amplifying the signal, Sonic IQ applies adaptive processing — including Dynamic Response Control, Virtual Bass Augmentation, and 360° Imaging — to account for the acoustic behavior of the enclosure itself and optimize the final output. The practical result is clearer instrument separation and tighter low-end response than you'd typically expect from a cabinet this compact.
The system pairs with the free Spark Companion app (iOS and Android) via Bluetooth, giving you deep control over amp models, effects routing, and presets from your phone or tablet. The app also enables Smart Jam (auto-generated bass and drum backing tracks), Auto Chords (real-time chord transcription from songs in your Apple Music or Spotify library), and access to Positive Grid's ToneCloud preset library with 50,000+ community tones.
Built to Gig, Ready to Record
The Spark LIVE includes a USB-C audio interface output — 24-bit/48kHz stereo — compatible with macOS and Windows. That means the same unit that handles your rehearsal can also serve as your recording interface when you're back home. A second USB-C port (service port) provides 5V/1.5A charging for mobile devices.
A built-in multi-angle stand lets the amp tilt back as a personal monitor or floor wedge, and a standard 35mm PA stand mount is built in for pole mounting. The amp runs on AC power out of the box, but an optional rechargeable 6Ah lithium-ion battery (sold separately) gives up to eight hours of wireless operation — making the Spark LIVE a genuinely portable, battery-powered backline when needed.
