50 Watts Through Angled FRFR Speakers
At the heart of the Spark 2 is a 50W Class D amplifier pushing two 4-inch full-range, flat-response (FRFR) speakers with a custom angled horn and a bass reflex port. The angled speaker configuration widens the stereo image so the sound doesn't just fire straight at your shins — it fills the room more naturally. The bass reflex design reinforces the low end, giving you a fuller sound than you'd expect from a compact amp at this size.
Positive Grid's Sonic IQ Computational Audio system — running on a dedicated processing chip — handles dynamic range compression, bass enhancement, stereo widening, and Auto EQ in real time. That's what allows the Spark 2 to sound disproportionately big for its footprint. The frequency response runs the full 20–20,000 Hz range, so electric, bass, and acoustic guitar signals all translate clearly.
HD Amp Modeling with 33 Amps and 43 Effects
The Spark 2 runs a completely redesigned HD DSP amp-modeling engine with twice the processing power of the original Spark. You get 33 amp models covering electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and bass, plus 43 effects including noise gate, compressor, distortion, modulation, delay, and reverb. Each of the eight onboard presets can load up to three pre-amp effects, three post-amp effects, and one amp model simultaneously — so your tones stay complex without requiring a laptop to manage them.
The Spark AI feature lets you describe a tone by artist, song, or feel, and the app presents matching options for you to audition. You can also access ToneCloud, Positive Grid's community-generated tone library, for thousands of downloadable presets. The eight-preset dual-bank Preset Knob on the top panel means your favorites are always one twist away, even without opening the app.
Built-in Looper, Connectivity, and More
The Spark 2 includes two built-in loopers: a Simple Looper for quick record/overdub/playback on the amp itself, and a Creative Groove Looper in the app that layers your playing over a library of genre-spanning drum patterns. Looper controls — REC/DUB, PLAY/STOP, and UNDO/REDO/CLEAR — live right on the top panel with LED indicators, so you can use them without touching your phone.
For connectivity, you get a 1/4" instrument input, 1/8" headphone output, two 1/4" stereo line outputs (L/Mono and R) for sending to a PA or mixer, a 1/8" aux input for external devices, and a USB-C port that doubles as a 2x2 audio interface for recording directly into your DAW. Bluetooth 5.0 handles wireless audio streaming, and Wi-Fi enables over-the-air firmware updates — no computer required.
