The Gibson Custom Shop Made 2 Measure Les Paul Custom Figured Pink Widow is a dealer-commissioned instrument — and not just any dealer run. This is one of only two Pink Widow Les Paul Customs ever commissioned by C.A. House Music, built to our exact specifications by the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville. If you've been waiting for something genuinely unique, you found it.
The "Widow" finish family takes the classic Les Paul Custom silhouette and wraps it in a dramatic, color-saturated treatment with tinted multi-ply binding that coordinates with the top — in this case, a striking Pink Widow that plays off the figuring in the AAA maple cap in a way that's hard to capture in photos. In hand, it reads as something rare, because it is.
This guitar is brand new and in perfect condition — one of just two made at our request, directly through the Gibson Made 2 Measure program. Players and collectors who want something that no one else has, built to a standard that Gibson's Custom Shop is known for, will not find this specific guitar anywhere else.
Body Built for the Long Game
The foundation is a solid mahogany body with weight relief — a pairing that keeps the warmth and sustain the Les Paul Custom is known for while making extended sessions more comfortable. On top sits a hand-picked AAA figured maple cap finished in the Pink Widow treatment, framed by 7-ply top binding and 5-ply back binding. The combination of tinted binding and figured top is what gives the Widow series its visual depth — it's not a spray-and-go finish. The binding picks up the color and carries it around the body in a way that makes the guitar look coherent from every angle.
The gloss nitrocellulose finish brings out the figure in the maple beautifully and gives the whole instrument a depth and shimmer you don't see on production guitars. Body construction is solid mahogany with a carved figured maple top — real tonewoods, real weight relief, real Custom Shop execution.
Neck, Fretboard, and Feel
The neck is solid mahogany, carved to a Modern Medium C-shape profile that measures 0.82" at the first fret and 0.965" at the twelfth. It's a comfortable profile — not a baseball bat, not a razor-thin shredder neck. Most players find it settles in naturally after a few minutes, and the long tenon neck joint means the connection between body and neck is tight and resonant.
The fretboard is one-piece ebony — smooth, fast, and authoritative. Mother of pearl block inlays run the length of the board with black side dots for easy stage reference. Twenty-two Jescar Reissue FW45100 frets sit atop the board, and a white Corian nut at 1.6875" width gives you the classic Les Paul feel at the nut. Scale length is the standard Gibson 24.75". At the headstock, the traditional Les Paul Custom veneer carries a mother of pearl Split Diamond inlay, and the back of the headstock wears the Gold Gibson Custom Shop decal.
Pickups, Hardware, and Electronics
Under the hood, you've got a matched set of Gibson 490R (neck) and 498T (bridge) humbuckers — the pickup pairing the Les Paul Custom has been associated with for decades. The 490R gives you warm, full cleans with a rounded midrange; the 498T pushes harder with more output and articulation on the bridge end. Together they cover a wide range of musical ground without ever sounding harsh or thin. Controls are the traditional Les Paul layout: two volume, two tone, and a three-way toggle.
Hardware throughout is gold — Grover Kidney tuners, a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a stop bar tailpiece. Gold hardware on a Pink Widow finish is a combination that reads as both glamorous and purposeful. The Grovers hold tune reliably and the Tune-O-Matic gives you precise intonation adjustment across all six strings.
