A Telecaster That Plays by Its Own Rules
Most Telecasters play it pretty straight — two pickups, a slab body, plug in and twang. The Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus had different ideas. It kept the classic Tele silhouette and that familiar bolt-on maple neck, then quietly stuffed in three pickups, a 5-way selector, and a mini-toggle coil-split for good measure. On paper it sounds like a lot. In practice, it just means you have more to work with.
The Honey Burst finish gives it a warm, glowing look that suits the pine body underneath nicely. Pine isn't a wood you see often in modern production guitars, but it has roots going back to some of the earliest Fenders — it's lightweight, resonant, and has an even tonal balance that neither piles on the low end nor gets brittle up top.
This is a used example in good overall condition, set up and ready to play. If you've been looking for a Tele that covers more ground without needing a pedalboard full of tricks, this one's worth your time.

Three Pickups, One Toggle — A Lot of Tele
The HSS pickup layout is what makes this guitar stand out from the Telecaster crowd. At the neck sits a Modern Player single-coil Tele pickup — familiar, clean, and twangy. The middle position gets a Modern Player Stratocaster-style single-coil, which opens up a chimey, glassy character you don't usually get from a Tele. At the bridge is a Modern Player humbucking pickup, and here's where it gets interesting: a mini-toggle switch lets you split that humbucker into a single-coil, effectively giving you yet another voice.
With the 5-way blade selector and the coil-split toggle working together, you have a wide range of usable tones — classic Tele snap, Strat-like bell tones, and full humbucker warmth, all in one guitar. Controls are simple: master volume, master tone, and the two switching options. Nothing complicated to dial in.
Familiar Neck, Comfortable Feel
The neck is maple with a maple fingerboard — one-piece construction that gives you that bright, snappy response Fender players know well. The profile is a classic "C" shape at 25.5" scale length with a 9.5" fretboard radius, 22 jumbo frets, and a 1.65" nut width. The radius is comfortable for both chord playing and lead work without feeling too flat or too vintage-round.
The nut is synthetic bone, and the tuners are vintage-style. Hardware throughout is nickel/chrome. The bridge is a vintage-style Stratocaster string-through-body 6-saddle hardtail — a departure from the traditional Tele bridge, but one that gives you better individual saddle intonation and a little extra sustain from the string-through design.
