Single-Cut Soul, Sunset Strip Style
Some guitars just look like they mean business before you've even plugged them in. The Vintage V100 AFD Paradise is one of those. That gloss amber flame maple veneer over a carved maple cap catches the light in a way that makes it hard to walk past without picking it up — and once you do, the solid mahogany body reminds you pretty quickly why this shape became a rock institution. It's not a fashion statement. It's just a well-built guitar that earns its look.
The "AFD" in the name is a nod to a certain era of Los Angeles hard rock — and the V100 AFD delivers the kind of warm, punchy, mid-forward tone you'd expect from that lineage. Set neck, mahogany through-and-through, a pair of Wilkinson humbuckers — it's a straightforward spec sheet, but the execution is the point.
This used example comes in Excellent condition with regular wear and tear, making it a solid opportunity to land a genuinely capable single-cut for less than new-guitar money.
This Vintage V100 AFD Paradise is in Excellent condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has normal playwear, small finish scratches noted, comes with strap locks. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
Built Around Solid Mahogany
The body is solid mahogany, capped with a carved maple cap and bookmatched flame maple veneer finished in a gloss amber. The mahogany isn't just a tonewood choice — it's what gives the V100 AFD its weight and resonance. There's no weight relief here, so the sustain is full and focused. Single ply ivory binding runs the body edge, and the cherry-tinted back rounds out the classic look.
The set mahogany neck features a soft C profile — comfortable without being squishy — and joins the body with a well-designed offset heel that improves access to the upper frets more than the shape's vintage heritage might suggest. The neck-through-body construction (set neck, not bolt-on) contributes directly to the sustain and note-to-note clarity this guitar is known for.
Rosewood Board, Familiar Feel
The rosewood fingerboard sits at a 12" radius — flatter than vintage-spec, which means bending is comfortable across the entire neck without notes choking out. Twenty-two medium jumbo frets give you enough room to work with, whether you're playing careful chord work or digging in on leads. Pearloid crown inlays mark the positions cleanly, staying legible under stage lighting without being flashy for their own sake.
At the nut, a 43mm Graphtech NuBone keeps string spacing familiar and reduces binding-related tuning issues during aggressive bends. The 24.75" scale length sits right in the sweet spot for single-cut guitars — enough string tension to stay articulate, but not so long it fights you on bends.
Wilkinson Hardware Throughout
The Wilkinson WVHZ double-coil humbuckers — finished in zebra style — handle the pickup duties here. They're uncovered, which gives the guitar a slightly rawer, more aggressive look, and the output suits everything from warm jazz-adjacent cleans to high-gain rock without calling for a replacement swap. Two volume controls and two tone controls give you independent management of each pickup, and the three-way toggle rounds out a familiar, no-surprises layout.
The Wilkinson Tune-O-Matic bridge allows per-string intonation adjustment, and the stop tailpiece keeps the string break angle consistent for good transfer of vibration to the body. Tuners are chrome, tulip-style, and handle standard string duties reliably. Chrome hardware runs throughout, tying the whole aesthetic together.
