Three Pickups, One Classic Shape — and a Whole Lot of Tonal Ground to Cover
If you've ever looked at a Les Paul and thought, "What if there were just one more pickup in there?" — this is the guitar for you. The Firefly FFSPS is a Les Paul-style solid body built around a three-humbucker layout, giving you the kind of tonal flexibility that guitar nerds have been chasing since Ace Frehley made a sparkle-burst LP famous in the '70s. It's a guitar with a clear personality and a point of view.
This particular FFSPS comes in a Sunburst finish and is in Excellent used condition — some light scratches and swirl marks are present, but nothing that affects playability or tone. It plays and sounds like what it is: a well-made, fun guitar with more pickup combinations than your average two-humbucker setup.
Firefly guitars are designed and backed by JSN and have built a solid reputation in the value guitar space for punching above their price point. The FFSPS is a great example — thoughtful features like locking tuners, stainless steel frets, and a bone nut at this price range aren't a given, and Firefly includes them all.
This Firefly FFSPS 3-Pickup is in Excellent condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has a normal play wear noted used condition very good. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
Mahogany All the Way Down
The FFSPS body and neck are both mahogany — the same pairing you find on classic single-cutaway designs that have defined rock tone for decades. Mahogany is known for its warm midrange character and sustain, and combined with the solid construction, this guitar has a resonance and weight that feels intentional rather than accidental.
The rosewood fretboard adds a touch of warmth to the feel and playing experience, with comfortable fret access up and down the neck. The 24.75" scale length is the classic Les Paul measurement — shorter than a Fender-style guitar, which translates to slightly lower string tension and a feel many players find easier on the fingers for bends and vibrato.
Three Alnico 5 Humbuckers and All the Combinations That Come With Them
The heart of the FFSPS is its triple-humbucker pickup layout, with three Alnico 5 pickups running neck, middle, and bridge positions. The three-way toggle switch lets you dial in the neck, bridge, or middle/all pickups together — giving you a wider palette of tones than a standard two-pickup design. Neck-only settings deliver warm, rounded jazz and clean tones. The bridge position bites with the classic humbucker growl you'd expect. The middle and combined positions open up a world of in-between sounds.
Alnico 5 magnets are well-regarded for their balanced output and clear note definition — not too hot, not too weak. They respond well to picking dynamics and clean up nicely when you roll back the volume.
Hardware Built to Stay in Tune
One of the most practical features on the FFSPS is the inclusion of locking Grover-style tuners. Locking tuners make string changes faster and help the guitar hold pitch more reliably — a real-world benefit that's easy to underestimate until you've used them. Combined with the bone nut and stainless steel ball-end frets, this is a hardware package that prioritizes playability and stability.
The 1 11/16" nut width provides a comfortable playing feel that works well for a wide range of hand sizes, whether you're coming from a thin-neck background or prefer something a bit more traditional.
