Two Cutaways, One Guitar That Does It All
Not every acoustic guitar has to look like it just stepped off the front porch. The Ibanez Talman TCY10E takes the road less traveled — literally, with a double-cutaway body that feels right at home for electric players making their acoustic debut. The Sea Foam Green high-gloss finish is the kind of color that turns heads at an open mic before you've played a single note.
The TCY10E sits in a comfortable middle ground: not quite a traditional acoustic, not quite an electric, but genuinely useful for both acoustic players who want something a little different and electric players who want acoustic versatility without relearning how to hold an instrument. The shallow body keeps things light and easy to manage whether you're sitting on a stool or standing at a gig.
If your playing life takes you from bedroom noodling to live stages, this one's built for the trip.
This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Cracked near heel binding. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
A Body Built for Playability
The Talman double-cutaway design gives you easy access all the way up the neck — something most acoustic guitars don't offer. The shallow body depth keeps it comfortable for extended playing sessions, and the overall feel will be immediately familiar if you've spent any time on an electric. It's a smart shape for players who find full-depth dreadnoughts a little awkward to wrap their arms around.
The spruce top delivers the tonal clarity acoustic players expect, while the sapele back and sides contribute warmth and a full-bodied midrange. X-bracing inside supports the top and helps project the sound evenly whether you're playing fingerstyle or strumming hard.
A Neck You'll Want to Play All Day
The okoume neck on the TCY10E has a reputation for being smooth and comfortable — it's a lightweight wood with a feel that many players compare favorably to mahogany. The purpleheart fingerboard adds a visual pop with its distinctive deep purple grain while delivering a bright, articulate response when you're picking individual notes or running leads.
With a 25.6" scale length, a 42mm nut width, and a 20-fret layout with the neck joining the body at the 16th fret, this guitar offers genuine upper-fret access that most acoustics simply can't match. White dot inlays keep navigation simple and clean.
Plug In and Play
The Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp system is designed specifically to work with the onboard undersaddle pickup, and the pairing works well in practice. You get a 2-band EQ with separate bass and treble controls, plus a built-in onboard tuner that you can use without even being plugged in — handy for a quick tune-up between songs. The 1/4" endpin output jack keeps things tidy, and the whole system runs on a standard 9V battery.
Chrome die-cast tuners with half-moon knobs handle intonation reliably, and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins make string changes a little less of a hassle. The guitar ships strung with coated bronze strings for extended life.
