Classical Tone in a Body That Actually Fits Your Playing Style
There's a reason players keep gravitating toward nylon strings — that warm, articulate, responsive feel is something steel just can't replicate. The trouble is, traditional classical guitars come with wide, flat necks and deep bodies that can feel foreign if you grew up on electrics or steel-string acoustics. The Ibanez FRH10NRGF solves that tension head-on. It's a nylon-string acoustic-electric built around a slim, Telecaster-inspired hollow body — thin enough to feel immediately comfortable, but voiced with the classical soul you're after.
The Rose Gold Metallic Flat finish gives it a look that stands apart from the standard natural or sunburst crowd, and the side sound port means you actually hear yourself clearly whether you're running through the PA or just playing at home unplugged. This is the 2025 model with the updated rosewood fretboard and Ibanez AEQ210T preamp — a meaningful upgrade in both feel and electronics.
Whether you're a fingerstyle player looking to add nylon tones to your toolkit, a classical guitarist wanting the comfort of a faster neck, or just someone drawn to that warm, intimate string response, the FRH10NRGF meets you where you are.
This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Missing paint inside truss rod cavity. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
A Top That Means Business
The solid Sitka spruce top is the heart of this guitar's acoustic voice. Sitka is known for its wide dynamic range — it responds softly to a light touch and opens up as you dig in — and the fan bracing pattern borrowed from classical guitar tradition lets that voice through with warmth and clarity rather than stiffness. There's no traditional soundhole on the top surface, which keeps feedback under control on stage and redirects acoustic projection through the oval side port near the upper horn.
That side port is genuinely useful. It angles the sound toward you as the player, giving you a clear, direct sense of the guitar's acoustic tone even when you're not amplified. It's a small design decision that makes a real difference in how connected you feel to the instrument.
The Neck: Where Electric Players Will Feel at Home
The C-shaped nyatoh neck is the part of this guitar that most departs from classical convention — and in the best way. Traditional classical necks are wide, flat, and thick; the FRH10N's neck is slimmer, rounder, and substantially easier to navigate if your muscle memory is built around electric or modern acoustic playing. The 46mm nut width (about 1.8") is narrower than a typical classical but still generous enough for fingerstyle work.
The 400mm (15.75") fretboard radius is another electric-friendly touch — classical guitars typically have flat fretboards, so the gentle curve here will feel natural to players coming from basically any other style. The rosewood fretboard adds a focused, balanced midrange response, and the set-in neck joint puts the heel at the 16th fret, giving you good access to the upper register. Twenty-two frets total, with white dot inlays for easy position reference.
Electronics Ready for the Stage
The 2025 FRH10NRGF is equipped with an Ibanez undersaddle pickup and the Ibanez AEQ210T preamp, which includes volume, treble, bass, a phase button, and an onboard chromatic tuner. It's a clean, practical setup — no extra pedal needed to tune up before your set. The output is a standard 1/4" endpin jack, and the system runs on a single 9V battery.
The undersaddle design captures string vibration close to the source, which translates to an amplified tone that stays close to the guitar's natural acoustic character. A mute switch is also included for silent tuning on stage. Gold classical-style tuning machines round out the hardware, keeping the aesthetic consistent front to back.
