Martin Custom Artist Series “D Robert Goetzl 11”
One-of-One Hand-Painted Owls of the Northern Sky
This extraordinary one-of-one Martin D-14 Fret from the Custom Artist Series features original, hand-painted artwork by renowned artist Robert Goetzl. The spruce top comes alive with a vivid Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) scene, illuminated in electric blues, greens, and purples, with three striking owls emerging from the forest beneath. It’s not just a guitar, it’s a collectible piece of functional art. Personally signed by Robert Goetzl on the interior label, this instrument is truly a 1-of-1 creation.
Built on Martin’s iconic D-14 Fret platform, this guitar pairs breathtaking visuals with uncompromising tone. The gloss-finished spruce top is supported by forward-shifted, scalloped 5/16" X-bracing for powerful projection, deep low end, and articulate highs. East Indian rosewood back and sides (gloss natural finish) deliver rich overtones and depth, while the dovetail neck joint ensures classic Martin resonance and sustain.
Premium appointments are found throughout, including Style 45 multi-stripe purfling, Style 30 multi-colored rope top inlay, abalone diamond & square long fingerboard inlays, and abalone side dots. The ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and Waverly gold open-back tuners complete the build with both elegance and performance in mind. The Genuine Mahogany neck features a Vintage Deluxe profile with a High Performance Taper (1 3/4" nut width, 2 1/8" at the 12th fret), offering a comfortable modern feel while maintaining a traditional foundation. Pleked from the factory for optimal playability.
