performance-series-ac-guitar-2
Ibanez PN50TKE Parlor Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural Dark Brown Sunburst

A Compact Parlor With Plugged-In Versatility

Parlor guitars have a way of pulling you in. The smaller body sits comfortably whether you're perched on a stool or settled in on the couch, and the Ibanez PN50TKE leans into that approachability without cutting corners on the things that matter. It's part of Ibanez's PF Performance Series — a lineup built around the idea that you shouldn't have to choose between playability and affordability.

The two-tone NDH finish gives this one a distinctive look: a Natural High Gloss top paired with Dark Brown Sunburst high-gloss back and sides. The teak back and sides aren't a common choice in this price range, and the warm, balanced character they bring to the instrument is part of what makes this model stand out from the typical spruce-and-everything-else parlor crowd.

And because it's an acoustic-electric, you're not locked into living room-only use. The onboard electronics let you plug in and go whenever the moment calls for it — which, if you've ever been asked to play at a last-minute gathering, is a genuinely useful thing to have.

Spruce Top, Teak Body, Nandu Wood Appointments

The spruce top is the classic choice for acoustic guitar tops for good reason — it responds well across a wide dynamic range, delivering clarity whether you're strumming open chords or picking individual notes. Paired with teak back and sides, you get a warm, balanced sound with a distinctive character that's a bit different from the more common mahogany-and-spruce combination.

The fretboard and bridge are both Nandu Wood, a material Ibanez uses across this series for its warm tonal contribution and smooth feel underhand. The neck is a PN-profile Meranti build — comfortable and familiar if you've played any of the other PN-body Ibanez models. White dot inlays keep the look clean and functional, and chrome die-cast tuners handle the tuning duties.

18 Frets and a Comfortable Parlor Scale

At 620mm (24.4"), the scale length is slightly shorter than a standard dreadnought, which translates to a little less string tension across the board. Players often find this makes chord grips and barre chords feel a bit more forgiving, especially during longer sessions. The nut width comes in at 42mm — a comfortable fit for most players.

With 18 frets and an 11mm string spacing, the PN50TKE is set up with Ibanez IACS6C strings (.012–.053 gauge) from the factory. The Ibanez Advantage bridge pins are worth a small mention: their bulb-shaped ends make string changes noticeably easier than wrestling with traditional pins.

Ibanez AEQ-2T Electronics

The onboard electronics are handled by the Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp system, which keeps things usable without overcomplicating things. You get bass and treble EQ controls and a volume knob, plus an onboard tuner that functions even when the guitar isn't plugged in — handy for tuning silently before a set or between songs. The undersaddle pickup feeds the signal into the preamp, and output is through a standard 1/4" jack powered by a single 9V battery.

The AEQ-2T isn't trying to be a boutique outboard preamp — it's a practical, reliable system for players who want to plug in cleanly and get to playing without fussing with multiple knobs.

Product Features:

Body Shape: Parlor

Top: Spruce

Back & Sides: Teak

Neck: PN-profile Meranti

Fretboard: Nandu Wood

Bridge: Nandu Wood with Ibanez Advantage bridge pins

Scale Length: 620mm / 24.4"

Nut Width: 42mm

Number of Frets: 18

Tuners: Chrome Die-cast

Electronics: Ibanez Undersaddle Pickup + AEQ-2T Preamp with onboard tuner

Output: 1/4" jack, 9V battery

String Gauge: .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053 (Ibanez IACS6C)

Finish: Natural High Gloss Top / Dark Brown Sunburst High Gloss Back & Sides

Brand: Ibanez

Model: PN50TKE

SKU: PN50TKENDH

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
