The Ibanez PF50CE is built exactly for that moment. It's a cutaway dreadnought acoustic-electric with onboard electronics, an open-pore finish that actually feels nice under your hand, and a look that stands out thanks to the transparent blue sunburst on the top with the natural mahogany-toned back and sides.

The PF series has been Ibanez's workhorse line for players who need a reliable, stage-ready instrument without a lot of fuss. The PF50CE checks all the boxes: big dreadnought projection, a cutaway so you can reach up the neck, and built-in electronics ready to plug directly into a PA or amp.

Whether you're just getting started or you need an affordable gigging guitar you won't stress about throwing in the car, the PF50CE is hard to argue with.

Spruce Top, Meranti Body — The Right Recipe for a Working Guitar

The spruce top is the classic choice for acoustic guitar tops, and for good reason — it delivers clear highs and strong projection that cuts through in a mix. The meranti back and sides round out the sound with warmth and sustain, making this guitar versatile for strumming chords or fingerpicking individual notes across a range of styles.

The open-pore polyurethane finish is one of the more player-friendly touches on the PF50CE. Because the wood's pores aren't completely filled, the finish stays thin, which lets the top resonate more freely and gives the guitar a smooth, tactile feel that many players prefer over a thick gloss coat. It's especially appreciated on the neck, where it keeps things comfortable for long playing sessions.

Cutaway Body and PF Neck Profile

The Venetian cutaway on the PF50CE gives you access to the upper frets without fighting the body — useful when you're playing lead lines or need to get past the 12th fret. The dreadnought body shape delivers the full, powerful projection that the style is known for, with a strong low end and clear highs that work across genres.

The meranti neck joins the body at the 14th fret via a dovetail joint and sports a PF neck profile — slim enough for comfortable everyday play. At 1.65" nut width and a 25.5" scale length, the PF50CE fits players who want standard-feeling geometry without any surprises. White dot inlays on the nandu wood fretboard keep navigation simple, and the 10" fretboard radius makes chording natural and comfortable.

Plug In and Play: Ibanez AEQ-2T Electronics

The PF50CE comes loaded with an Ibanez undersaddle pickup and the AEQ-2T preamp system. The preamp handles bass and treble EQ so you can dial in your amplified tone to taste, and it includes a built-in tuner that works even when the guitar isn't plugged in — which is a genuinely useful feature in a live setting.

Chrome die-cast tuners with a 15:1 gear ratio handle tuning stability, and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins make string changes easier than fussing with standard pins. The nandu wood bridge and plastic saddle round out a hardware package that punches above its price class.

Product Features:

Body Shape: Cutaway dreadnought with Venetian cutaway for upper-fret access

Top: Spruce — clear highs and strong projection

Back & Sides: Meranti — warm, balanced tone and good sustain

Finish: Open-pore polyurethane — thin, tactile feel that lets the wood resonate

Neck: Meranti with PF profile, dovetail joint at 14th fret

Scale Length / Nut Width: 25.5" scale / 1.65" nut width

Fretboard: Nandu wood with white dot inlays, 10" radius, 20 frets

Electronics: Ibanez undersaddle pickup + AEQ-2T preamp with 2-band EQ and built-in tuner

Tuners: Chrome die-cast, 15:1 gear ratio

Bridge: Nandu wood with Ibanez Advantage bridge pins

Color: Open-pore transparent blue sunburst top, natural mahogany-toned back and sides

Country of Origin: Indonesia

Brand: Ibanez

Model: PF50CE

SKU: PF50CEOBH

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
