dirty-30s-single-0-series-7-parlor-ae-w-gold-foil-p-u-mahogany
Recording King Dirty 30s 7-Series Parlor Acoustic-Electric Guitar Mahogany

Old-School Looks, Plug-In Ready

There's something about a small-body guitar with a vintage vibe that just makes you want to pick it up and play. The Recording King Dirty 30s 7-Series Parlor Acoustic-Electric does exactly that — it channels the spirit of Depression-era parlor guitars while giving you a passive Gold Foil soundhole pickup ready to plug straight into an amp or PA. No batteries, no fuss.

The all-maple body gives this Single 0 a bright, focused character that sits right in the mix whether you're strumming chords or working through fingerpicked melodies. The compact parlor size makes it easy to carry around, and the 12th-fret neck joint keeps the playing position comfortable and familiar.

This is a guitar that works equally well as a couch companion or a stage tool. If you're after a compact acoustic-electric with honest vintage character and a pickup that doesn't require a battery change right before a gig, this one's worth a close look.

All-Maple Body with Vintage Character

Maple top, back, and sides make up the body of this 7-Series Parlor. Maple tends to produce a brighter, more articulate tone than traditional mahogany or spruce/mahogany pairings — it emphasizes clarity and note definition, which suits fingerpickers and players who need their parts to cut through clearly in an ensemble setting.

Recording King's X-brace bracing pattern supports the soundboard for consistent vibration and balanced response. The body joins the mahogany neck at the 12th fret with a traditional dovetail joint — a time-tested construction method that reinforces the vintage proportions of this parlor-size design. Vintage-style tuning machines with ivory-colored buttons complete the throwback aesthetic.

RK Gold Foil Soundhole Pickup

The Gold Foil pickup mounted in the soundhole is a passive design — meaning it requires no battery and no preamp to operate. Just plug it into any amp, DI box, or audio interface and you're ready to go. The gold foil tone has been sought after for decades: it's organic and rootsy, with a character that sits somewhere between a traditional acoustic pickup and an electric guitar's single coil.

That kind of pickup pairs especially well with the bright, punchy maple body. Players who gig with this guitar in small rooms, open mics, or recording sessions will appreciate how quickly it goes from acoustic practice to amplified performance without any extra gear in the signal chain.

A Comfortable, Practical Parlor Build

The mahogany neck features a C-shaped profile and joins the body at the 12th fret with a dovetail joint. The 25.35" scale length and 1.69" nut width provide a familiar steel-string feel that transitions naturally for most players. Acrylic fingerboard inlays keep the look clean without being overly ornate. PPS is used for the nut, saddle, and bridge pins — practical and consistent string contact points throughout.

The overall result is a guitar with a very low barrier to entry: easy to grab, easy to play, and easy to plug in when you need to.

Product Features:

Body: All-maple top, back, and sides in a Single 0 / parlor body shape

Neck: Mahogany with C-shaped profile; dovetail joint at 12th fret

Scale Length: 25.35"

Nut Width: 1.69" (approximately 1-11/16")

Bracing: X-brace pattern

Electronics: RK Gold Foil passive soundhole pickup — no battery required

Tuners: Vintage-style open-gear machines with ivory-colored buttons

Nut / Saddle / Bridge Pins: PPS material

Finish: Mahogany (satin)

Fingerboard Inlays: Acrylic

Brand: Recording King

Model: Dirty 30s 7-Series Parlor Acoustic-Electric Guitar

SKU: RP-30-7E-MA

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
