c7-cd
Cordoba C7 CD Classical Guitar Natural

A Handmade Classical Guitar That Means Business

If you've been searching for a nylon-string classical guitar that actually rewards you as you grow, the Cordoba C7 CD deserves a serious look. It sits comfortably above the entry-level crowd — this is the guitar that serious students and dedicated hobbyists reach for when they're ready to stop compromising. The solid Canadian red cedar top brings warmth and responsiveness that laminate tops simply can't match, and the traditional Spanish fan bracing underneath gives each note room to breathe and bloom.

The C7 CD is part of Cordoba's Iberia series, a lineup built around genuine handmade craftsmanship at an accessible price. Every detail — from the hand-inlaid all-natural wood mosaic rosette to the Indian rosewood binding — reflects that commitment. It plays like a real classical instrument because it is one, and that matters whether you're working through études or playing for the sheer joy of it.

This guitar is a natural fit for anyone from advancing beginners to intermediate players who want an instrument that won't hold them back.

Cedar Top: Warmth from Day One

Cedar is a classic choice for classical guitar tops, and for good reason. Where spruce tends to open up and bloom over years of playing, cedar arrives warm and responsive right out of the gate. The C7 CD's solid Canadian red cedar top delivers a rich, full midrange with depth that synthetic or laminate tops can't replicate. Traditional Spanish fan bracing maximizes resonance and sustain, letting the top vibrate freely while maintaining an even, balanced response across all six strings.

The Indian rosewood back and sides round out the tonal picture nicely — adding warmth and low-end body to complement the cedar top's expressiveness. The gloss polyurethane finish protects the instrument beautifully while still allowing the grain of the cedar and rosewood to catch the eye.

Built for the Classical Tradition

The C7 CD's neck is mahogany with a traditional Classical C-shape profile — wider and flatter than what you'd find on a steel-string guitar, which is exactly right for proper classical technique. The 650mm (25.6") scale length and 52mm (2.04") nut width are standard full-size classical dimensions, giving your left hand the room it needs to build correct form and finger independence. The rosewood fingerboard has a smooth, comfortable feel, and the 19-fret layout (12 to the body) follows traditional classical guitar design.

A two-way adjustable truss rod gives the C7 CD a practical advantage over some classicals at this price: the neck can be dialed in over time as humidity seasons change and the instrument settles in. Bone nut and saddle add to sustain and tonal clarity, and the gold tuning machines with pearl buttons provide solid, reliable tuning stability. Mother-of-pearl side dot markers at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th frets make position orientation easy without disrupting the instrument's clean aesthetic.

Refined Details, Real Character

What sets the C7 CD apart visually is the attention paid to the smaller things. The hand-inlaid all-natural wood mosaic rosette is made without any synthetic materials — a hallmark of traditional classical guitar construction. Maple and ebony top purfling, Indian rosewood binding and bridge, and a rosewood headstock overlay all add up to a guitar that looks considered and cohesive from every angle.

The high-gloss polyurethane finish gives it a polished, stage-ready appearance without being flashy. It's a handsome instrument in the truest classical sense — elegant but understated, the way a classical guitar should be.

Product Features:

Top: Solid Canadian Red Cedar with traditional Spanish fan bracing

Back & Sides: Rosewood

Neck: Mahogany with traditional Classical C-shape profile

Fingerboard: Rosewood, 19 frets total (12 to body)

Scale Length: 650mm (25.6") — standard full-size classical dimensions

Nut Width: 52mm (2.04") with bone nut and bone saddle

Rosette: Hand-inlaid all-natural wood mosaic

Binding: Indian rosewood with maple and ebony purfling

Finish: High Gloss Polyurethane — Natural

Two-way adjustable truss rod for long-term neck stability

Gold tuning machines with pearl buttons; Mother-of-Pearl side dot markers

String type: Nylon (Savarez Cristal Corum)

Brand: Cordoba

Model: C7 CD

SKU: C7 CD

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
