c4-ce-edge-burst
Cordoba C4-CE Classical-Electric Guitar Edge Burst

A Nylon-String Gateway with the Right Credentials

There's something about a classical guitar with a cutaway that just makes sense — all the warmth and character of nylon strings, without that awkward stretch when you want to play up the neck. The Cordoba C4-CE Edge Burst is exactly that kind of guitar: a traditional Spanish-style classical with a soft cutaway, a neck that won't fight you, and electronics that mean you can plug in when the moment calls for it.

Built around an all-mahogany body, the C4-CE delivers a tone that sits on the warmer, richer side of the classical spectrum. Mahogany is an unusual choice for nylon-string instruments, but it works — producing clear and bright highs balanced against a warm, full mid-range that rewards fingerstyle playing. And the open-pore satin Edge Burst finish gives it a look that stands out without being showy about it.

Whether you're just beginning to explore classical repertoire, crossing over from steel-string, or looking for a nylon-string to double on at gigs, the C4-CE brings together construction quality and playability that genuinely punches above its price.

Solid Top, Classical Soul

The C4-CE's solid African mahogany top is the engine of this guitar's voice. Mahogany is a tonewood known for its warmth, articulation, and sustain — qualities that translate especially well to fingerstyle playing and the nuanced dynamics of classical technique. The top is fan-braced in the traditional Spanish style, which allows the top to vibrate more freely and helps preserve those characteristic classical dynamics.

The mahogany back and sides round out the body's tonal character, supporting the solid top with balanced volume and sustain. Cordoba's construction is rooted in the traditional Spanish classical guitar form, and the C4-CE carries that heritage into an accessible, giggable package.

A Neck Built for Players Who Actually Play It

Classical guitar necks are notoriously wide — great for tradition, challenging for anyone coming from steel-string. Cordoba addressed this directly with the C4-CE's 50mm nut width, which is slightly narrower than a standard classical guitar without going so far as to feel like a steel-string. The C Shape neck profile keeps things comfortable across the board.

The soft cutaway adds easy access to the upper register — handy for classical passages that venture above the 12th fret, or for players who just appreciate the flexibility. The rosewood fingerboard and bridge complement the natural tone of the mahogany body, and the open-pore satin finish on the neck keeps things smooth without feeling sticky.

Plug In, Play Out

The Fishman Presys VT pickup and preamp system is mounted in the soundhole, putting volume and tone controls right at your fingertips. It's a clean, reliable system that delivers a natural sound when you run through an amp or PA — the kind of electronics that don't get in the way of what you're playing. Whether you're playing a small venue, a classroom, or recording directly into an interface, the C4-CE is ready to go.

Premium visual details — an abalone rosette, maple body and fingerboard binding, cream and black top purfling, and the Pearloid Córdoba Arches logo on the headstock — give the C4-CE a polished, refined look that fits the instrument's character. The Edge Burst open-pore satin finish lets the natural beauty of the mahogany show through while adding a subtle, elegant gradient from the edges inward.

Product Features:

Top Wood: Solid African Mahogany with traditional Spanish fan bracing

Back & Sides: Mahogany for warm, balanced tone and sustain

Neck: Mahogany with C Shape profile and 50mm nut width — slightly narrower than standard classical for easier playability

Fingerboard & Bridge: Rosewood

Scale Length: 650mm (25.6")

Body: Full-size classical with soft cutaway for upper-fret access

Electronics: Fishman Presys VT pickup and preamp system with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls

Finish: Open-pore satin Edge Burst

Appointments: Abalone rosette, maple body and fingerboard binding, cream and black top purfling, Pearloid Córdoba Arches logo

Strings: Nylon (classical)

Brand: Cordoba

Model: C4-CE

SKU: 99-751-0010

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
