b-stock-el-bass-icb-w-bag-dent-on-upper-neck-shaft
Ibanez Iceman ICB720FM Bass Guitar Cosmic Blue Starburst B-Stock

The Iceman Returns — This Time on Four Strings

There's a reason the Iceman shape has never really gone away. That bold, asymmetric silhouette turns heads before you've played a single note — and the ICB720FM backs up the look with a bass built to actually play. Flamed maple top over an okoume body, Nordstrand Big Break pickups, and an active 2-band EQ give you real tools to shape your tone, not just a statement piece to hang on the wall.

The Cosmic Blue Starburst finish hits that sweet spot between classic and modern, and the bound Panga Panga fretboard adds a visual elegance that feels earned rather than tacked on. Whether you're locking in a groove or pushing into solo territory, this bass is ready to keep up.

If you've been looking for a bass that stands out on stage without making you compromise on playability or tone, the ICB720FM deserves a serious look.

This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed dent on upper neck shaft. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.

Body and Construction: Okoume With a Flamed Maple Cap

The ICB720FM body is built around okoume — a wood known for its lightweight feel and a tonal profile that leans bright and focused, with solid midrange presence. Capping it with a flamed maple top adds both visual depth and a bit of extra brightness and snap on the high end. The result is a bass that doesn't weigh you down on a long gig, while still delivering the kind of punch and definition that cuts through a mix.

The iconic Iceman profile gives the body its unmistakable sculpted silhouette, and the bolt-on neck joint keeps the construction straightforward and serviceable. Hardware is finished in black throughout, which complements the Cosmic Blue Starburst finish cleanly.

Neck and Fretboard: Fast, Stable, and Smooth

The three-piece maple neck uses Ibanez's ICB4 profile — a shape designed for comfort and consistency across the full 34" scale. Three-piece construction adds stability over time compared to a single-piece neck, reducing the chance of seasonal warping. The neck is finished in satin for a smooth, fast feel that doesn't grab your hand mid-run.

The bound Panga Panga fretboard is the real standout here. Panga Panga is a dense hardwood with a striking grain, and it contributes tight low-end response and articulate mids along with a crisp, defined top end. Combined with a 305mm (12") radius — slightly flatter than vintage-spec boards — it supports comfortable chord work and easy single-note runs from the first fret to the 22nd. Acrylic block inlays give the board a clean, classic look.

Nut width sits at 41mm, and string spacing at the bridge is 19mm — a comfortable, standard configuration for most playing styles.

Pickups and Electronics: Nordstrand Big Break + Active 2-Band EQ

The Nordstrand Big Break pickups are a big part of what makes this bass tick. They're a split-coil design housed in a soapbar-style cover — so you get the hum-canceling benefit of a split-coil with the broad, even response of a soapbar form factor. The character is full-bodied and articulate, with the kind of note definition that keeps things clear even at high volumes.

Paired with Ibanez Custom Electronics' 2-band EQ (bass and treble), you can quickly dial in more low-end thump for rock and metal, or open up the top end for funk and pop grooves. The MR5S bridge supports fine adjustments to string spacing (±1.5mm), letting you match the feel of the instrument to your playing technique. Schaller S-Lock strap pins come standard — a thoughtful touch that you'll appreciate the first time you forget to double-check your strap mid-performance.

Product Features:

Body: Okoume with Flamed Maple top

Neck: 3-piece Maple, ICB4 profile, satin finish

Fretboard: Bound Panga Panga, 305mm (12") radius, acrylic block inlays

Frets: 22 medium frets

Scale Length: 34" (864mm)

Nut Width: 41mm

Pickups: Nordstrand Big Break (neck and bridge) — split-coil, passive

Electronics: Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band active EQ (bass and treble)

Bridge: MR5S, 19mm string spacing, adjustable ±1.5mm

Hardware Color: Black

Strap Locks: Schaller S-Locks included

Finish: Cosmic Blue Starburst

Brand: Ibanez

Model: Iceman ICB720FM

SKU: ICB720FMCBS-2ND|1P01I250909486

Condition: B-Stock

Since 1872, C.A.
