acoustic-guitar-2
Cordoba C3M Classical Guitar

A Handcrafted Classical Guitar That Takes the Tradition Seriously

There's something immediately different about picking up a nylon-string classical guitar — the wider neck, the softness of the strings under your fingers, the way the sound opens up and breathes. The Cordoba C3M is a great introduction to all of that. It's a full-size, handcrafted instrument from Cordoba's Iberia Series, built in the traditional Spanish style with a solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides.

The "M" in the name stands for its matte finish — a light, satin polyurethane that keeps the guitar looking understated and natural while letting the wood do the talking. Fan bracing beneath the cedar top follows classical convention, giving the soundboard room to vibrate freely and respond to the nuanced touch that nylon strings reward.

Whether you're working through your first classical repertoire, returning to fingerstyle after years away, or just want a nylon-string guitar that feels like a real instrument rather than a toy, the C3M is a well-considered starting point from a brand that builds classical guitars exclusively.

A Solid Cedar Top Where You Might Not Expect One

One of the C3M's clearest advantages at its price point is the solid cedar top. Cedar is a traditional choice for classical tops — it's a bit more responsive to light touch than spruce, which makes it forgiving for players still developing their right-hand technique. Solid wood tops also tend to improve in resonance and projection as they age and open up, which gives this guitar a longer useful life than a comparable laminate-topped instrument.

The Spanish-style fan bracing pattern under that solid top is the other piece of the puzzle. Seven fan braces radiate outward across the lower bout, giving the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to string tension. It's the same bracing approach used on classical guitars at far higher price points, and it results in a warm, balanced tone that suits both solo melodic playing and fingerpicking accompaniment.

Built for the Classical Neck Experience

Classical guitars have a wider, flatter neck than steel-string acoustics — and the C3M is no different. The nut measures 52mm (just over 2 inches), which is standard for full-size classical instruments. The C-shaped profile feels comfortable for most adult hands, and the flat fingerboard radius is true to classical tradition. Players coming from steel-string guitars will notice the difference, but for classical technique — where wide string spacing helps keep fingers clear of adjacent strings — it's the right geometry.

The rosewood fingerboard and bridge are fitted to a nato neck, a practical and durable choice for the neck wood. A dual-action truss rod gives you the ability to adjust neck relief if needed over time — a feature that's genuinely useful as humidity and temperature shift seasonally. Scale length is 650mm (25.6"), which is the standard classical scale. Bone nut and saddle round out the hardware spec and contribute to clear sustain and string-to-string clarity.

At the headstock, nickel-plated tuning machines with pearl buttons keep things tidy and functional. The hand-inlaid wooden rosette adds a traditional decorative touch that gives the soundhole real visual interest without being over-the-top. Savarez strings are fitted from the factory, a quality nylon string brand used on classical instruments worldwide.

Product Features:

Top: Solid Canadian Cedar with traditional Spanish 7-fan bracing

Back & Sides: Mahogany

Body Size: Full-size classical, 650mm (25.6") scale length

Neck: Nato with C-shape profile; dual-action truss rod

Fingerboard & Bridge: Rosewood; 19 total frets (12 to body)

Nut: Bone, 52mm (2") width; bone saddle

Rosette: Hand-inlaid all-wood traditional rosette

Finish: Satin matte polyurethane — Natural

Tuners: Nickel-plated with pearl buttons

Strings: Savarez (factory-fitted)

Brand: Cordoba

Model: C3M

SKU: C3M

Condition: New

Since 1872, C.A.
